Fredrik or “Fred” Burger is the Global Leader of EY-Parthenon’s Private Equity Value Creation practice. He advises leading private equity firms and their portfolio companies on the operational dimensions of transactions and value creation across the full investment lifecycle — from investment thesis development and buy- and sell-side operational due diligence through carve-outs, integrations, performance improvement, transformation and exit preparation.

Fred brings a distinctive combination of advisory, investment and hands-on operating experience. Before joining EY, he was the CEO of a global medical equipment company with operations across Europe, North America and Australia. Earlier in his career, he worked with the portfolio team of a global investment firm, ultimately leading its London office, and with General Motors’ global purchasing and supply chain organization in Detroit.

His experience spans complex, international situations, including standalone company set-ups, cost-reduction and turnaround programs, synergy assessments, bolt-on and roll-up strategies and large-scale business transformations. He has advised many of the world’s leading private equity houses across a broad range of sectors and deal contexts.

Fred also has extensive board and investment committee experience. He represents EY on the Social Business Trust Investment Committee and serves as Investment Director and board member of Health & Independent Living Support.
